Achieva After School Program

Program Staff

Starting Wage: $20/hr

Role Overview: Support daily after school programming, supervise children, lead activities and provide homework assistance to children ages 4-12.

Required Qualifications:

  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening

  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification

  • Experience working with children

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to assist students with K-6 homework.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education completed or in progress

  • Post-secondary interest or focus in: Education, Physical Education, Child & Youth Care, Social Work, French, or related field.

Assets:

  • French Immersion background or fluency

  • Experience in camps, recreation or other child care settings

  • Experience supporting diverse learning needs

  • Sports, arts, music, STEM skills and interest

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise children

  • Organize and help lead games and activities

  • Support homework completion

  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment

  • Communicate with team members and families

Achieva After School Program

Program Manager

Starting Wage: $23/hr

Role Overview: Lead the operation of an Achieva After School Program. Supervise staff, plan daily programming and provide homework assistance to children ages 4-12.

Required Qualifications:

  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening

  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification

  • Experience working with children

  • Leadership and organizational skills

  • Experience leading groups and activities

  • Ability to assist students with K-6 homework.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education completed or in progress

  • Post-secondary interest or focus in: Education, Physical Education, Child & Youth Care, Social Work, French, or related field

  • Previous supervisory experience

Assets:

  • French Immersion background or fluency

  • Activity planning experience

  • Experience completing documentation and reports

  • Staff supervision experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead daily activities

  • Organize activities involving: STEAM, literacy, French, recreation and parties

  • Manage attendance and daily operations

  • Complete incident reports and related documentation

  • Support team

  • Communicate with families, school staff and Achieva administration

Achieva Tutoring

Tutor

Starting Wage: $20/hr

Role Overview: Provide one-on-one or small group academic support to students in a variety of subjects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening

  • Experience working with children

  • Strong academic skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Reliable and professional

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education completed or in progress

  • Education or subject-specific studies

  • Previous tutoring experience

Assets:

  • French Immersion background or fluency

  • Experience with diverse learning needs

  • Knowledge of Newfoundland curriculum

  • Experience teaching or tutoring multiple or specific grade levels

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized academic support

  • Develop learning strategies and study skills

  • Monitor student progress

  • Communicate with families and Achieva administration

  • Foster confidence and academic success
